Jillian and Riley kicked off their Colorado wedding weekend with an unforgettable welcome party and rehearsal dinner at Devil’s Thumb Ranch. Designed to embrace the spirit of the mountains while maintaining an elevated feel, the evening blended upscale western charm with thoughtful, personalized details.
As part of our full-service wedding planning and design experience, our team curated an immersive welcome event that allowed guests to immediately settle into the relaxed, celebratory atmosphere of the ranch.
An Elevated Western Design Aesthetic
The design for the welcome party centered around a refined western palette of warm browns, dusty blues, and natural sage greens. Textural elements and desert-inspired decor created a setting that felt authentic to Colorado while still polished and intentional.
Throughout the space, we incorporated:
Potted cactus and succulents as living decor elements
Natural wood textures and earthy tones

To make the evening even more memorable, Jillian and Riley incorporated unique interactive experiences that encouraged guests to relax, mingle, and fully enjoy the start of the wedding weekend.
One of the standout moments was the couple’s custom hat bar, where guests could design their own western hats to wear throughout the celebration.
Another playful detail guests loved was the mini beverage horses, which served drinks during the welcome festivities and added a charming western touch.
