Winter Micro Wedding at Hearth House | Unique Colorado Wedding Experience by a Colorado Wedding Planner
Briana Hanson, co-owner of Privé Events and an experienced Colorado wedding planner and wedding florist, designed her own winter micro wedding to be an intentional departure from the traditional wedding format. Hosted at Hearth House in Littleton, this celebration with Jeffery focused on immersive guest experience, elevated design, and meaningful moments over traditional wedding structure.
Instead of a standard seated dinner followed by dancing, the couple curated a highly personalized evening designed around connection, conversation, and unexpected guest experiences—creating a wedding that felt more like an intimate winter gathering than a traditional reception.
A Modern Winter Micro Wedding in Colorado
This winter micro wedding was designed to embrace intimacy, warmth, and intentional guest experience. With a smaller guest count, Briana and Jeffery were able to focus on meaningful details and immersive moments that would not typically be possible in a larger traditional wedding format.
As a Colorado wedding planner, Briana intentionally reimagined the structure of the wedding day to prioritize interaction, atmosphere, and storytelling rather than a rigid timeline of formal traditions.
Set against the cozy and modern backdrop of Hearth House, the venue provided the perfect setting for a winter celebration filled with candlelight, lounge seating, and experiential dining.
“Acts of Food” Pairing Dinner Experience
One of the most unique elements of the evening was the curated “acts of food” dinner service, where each course was intentionally paired with a specific beverage and presented as part of a multi-sensory dining experience.
Instead of a traditional plated dinner, guests experienced a progressive culinary journey designed to encourage conversation and engagement at the table. Each course was introduced as its own moment—allowing the evening to unfold slowly and intentionally.
This approach created a relaxed, elevated atmosphere that felt more like an intimate dining experience than a traditional wedding reception meal.
Live French Jazz & Lounge-Style Atmosphere
To enhance the winter ambiance, live French jazz music filled the space throughout the evening, setting a warm and sophisticated tone. Rather than a dance floor-focused reception, the entertainment was designed to complement conversation and connection.
Comfortable lounge seating areas encouraged guests to move freely throughout the space, creating a cocktail-lounge style environment that felt intimate and inviting.
As a Colorado wedding florist, soft candlelight, winter greenery, and subtle floral accents were used to enhance the atmosphere without overpowering the natural coziness of the venue.
Interactive Guest Experiences Instead of Dancing
Instead of a traditional dance floor, the couple curated a series of interactive experiences that kept guests engaged throughout the night:
The classic “shoe game” featuring playful storytelling moments
Card games and lounge-style entertainment areas
Conversation-focused seating arrangements
A relaxed flow between dining, music, and socializing
By removing formal dancing, the focus shifted entirely to connection, storytelling, and shared experiences—making the evening feel deeply personal and memorable.
Sparkler Grand Exit & Winter Celebration Finale
The evening concluded with a “sparktacular” grand exit, where guests gathered outside for a glowing sparkler send-off in the winter air. This final moment created a cinematic ending to an already unforgettable celebration, perfectly capturing the warmth and joy of the night despite the cold Colorado winter setting.
Why This Winter Micro Wedding Worked So Well
This celebration at Hearth House is a perfect example of how modern couples are redefining what weddings can look like. By focusing on guest experience rather than tradition, Briana and Jeffery created a wedding that felt intentional, immersive, and completely unique.
As both a Colorado wedding planner and Colorado wedding florist, Briana designed every detail—from layout and flow to floral styling and guest experience—to support a non-traditional but deeply meaningful celebration.
