Flower Shop Assistant

Location: Castle Pines, CO
Wage: Starting at $18/hour
Hours:

  • Approx. 30-40 hours/week May - December

  • Approx. 20 hours/week January - April

We are seeking a Flower Shop Assistant who is passionate about flowers, organization, and customer service to join our growing team.

Position Overview

The Flower Shop Assistant will play a key role in maintaining the daily operations of the studio, supporting floral and event production, and providing an outstanding customer experience. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, high activity level, and the ability to work collaboratively with our talented team.

Key Responsibilities

Flower Processing

  • Prepare buckets, vases, and workspace for incoming flower shipments.

  • Unpack, inspect, and process flower deliveries (conditioning, trimming, quality control).

  • Assist the Floral Manager with communicating with wholesalers regarding substitutions, credits, or additional orders.

  • Maintain clean and organized flower processing and storage areas.

Floral Support

  • Support the floral team in design setup (vase preparation, mechanics prep, greenery prep, etc.).

Shop Attendant

  • Perform daily opening and closing duties (watering plants, dusting, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, washing buckets/vases, washing windows, etc.)

  • Assist customers in person and over the phone, providing floral advice and recommendations.

  • Handle sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our POS system.

  • Prepare, package, and stage floral arrangements for pickup or delivery. 

  • Deliver floral orders to customers.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming work environment at all times.

  • Support floral workshops and pop-up shops.

  • Assist with unboxing, pricing, and stocking new retail products.

  • Restock shelves, perform inventory checks, and help manage supply levels.

  • Actively engage with customers to enhance their shopping experience.

  • Collaborate with team members to meet sales and operational goals.

Onsite Event Support

  • Pack, deliver, and set up contracted floral and decor pieces onsite to weddings and events all over Colorado.

  • Assist with event teardown, packing up rentals, and returning items to the studio. (Often late at night)

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in retail or event production is preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to multitask and prioritize.

  • Fast paced!

  • A friendly, professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to lift up to 30+ pounds and work on your feet for the majority of the day.

  • Hard working is a must! Being part of the floral and wedding industry is very rewarding, but not glamorous, there is a lot of physical activity involved.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for deliveries. Mileage and driving time will be paid for when you are transporting Privé flowers, decor, equipment, etc. 

  • Willingness to work weekends and evenings.
